As I sit pondering my Corona Virus afterlife
To what can I be sure…
to keep my manhood and sanity alive?
How can I be a man in the atmosphere of
“social distance”, “quarantine”, “at-risk population”, and “ hand sanitizer”?
How is a man to feel as though he is still a man behind the fashion face mask?
River time.
15 miles with the current sipping some Kentucky “syrup”
Breathe in the smoke of the cigar salted by the sunflower.
Paddle with ease as the wind pushes you through the forest.
Everyday I converse over webcam or teleconference.
Is this what I am resigned to?
Hoping not to experience the COVID-19 Voodoo?
The conclave
The message is heard.
Gather round felled hardwood.
Sate yourself with the fire roasted feast.
Scent of cigars and amber glow of the fallen tree
Conversation opens with the air,
Colored by the influence of the Kentucky Water.
Feel of the river…
Scent of smoke and fire
Does the virus even exist?
Signed,
J Stroke Paluski
