On this July 4th, 2024, I looked for connection with the rebellious spirit which led to the founding of this great nation. My reflection led me to wonder… was George Washington the original Chupacabra?

The Chupacabra are XStream canoeists, patriots, and promoters of traditional values, what other connections are there?
Consider the venue for some of George Washington’s most well-known accomplishments or legacies. That’s right, I’m talking about rivers. It’s what make the first POTUS and the Chupacabra great.
George’s legend starts with him taking to the water to dominate the British after crossing the Delaware. Two hundred and thirty-six later, the Chupacabra took to the water in a defining moment, dominating the Allegheny and kicking off a stretch of greatness mirroring that of the Founding Father.
Additionally, Washington made his homestead on the Potomac, the stately river which runs through Washington D.C. and past his estate at Mount Vernon. The Potomac was also visited by the Chupacabra in 2022.
So, on my next paddle, I’ll be reflecting on the origins of our great country and the Chupacabra and floating with patriotism and pride!

Paddles Up and Happy 4th!
